Ice Machine Buying Guide Checklist
The following checklist is a quick overview of things to consider when looking for an ice machine:
- Available space - Do you only have a small space under a bench or do you have more room to accommodate a larger modular machine?
- Ice storage - Are you looking for a self contained all-in-one or a modular option that will sit on an ice storage bin?
- Ice handling - Is manual removal or stored ice suitable or is a dispensing system required for self service or hygiene requirements?
- Storage capacity - Will the stored amount of ice be enough on-hand to get through busy periods of service?
- Production rate - Will the machine keep up with replenishment of ice throughout service?
- Service points - Do you have multiple locations that customers can be served? If so, think about possibly getting two machines to cover each station.
- Ice types - Think about what products you are providing and what ice type will suit best.
